Microgaming secures exclusive license for Tarzan online pokies
Microgaming revealed last week that it had struck an exclusive agreement with Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc. for the rights to produce Tarzan online pokies games.
The news comes hot on the heels of The Legend of Tarzan, which hit theatre screens in July.
The acquisition is a big coup for Microgaming, especially following the recent expiry of its agreement with Warner Bros. for The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises.
The Isle of Man gaming giant has also produced licensed pokies for Battlestar Galactica, Game of Thrones, Hellboy, Hitman, Jurassic Park, Playboy, Terminator 2 and Tomb Raider, among many other high-profile franchises.
A chuffed Roger Raatgever, Microgaming CEO, said fans could expect the new Tarzan pokies game to swing in to online casinos around the turn of the year.
“Tarzan is recognised the world over, so we’re excited to be launching a slot hosted by this timeless character,” Raatgever said.
“Our highly talented games team relish working with a new brand, to build a game that celebrates and embraces it.
“Having seen the game in prototype, I can honestly say the online slot will not disappoint Tarzan fans; operators and their players can look forward to the game’s release this winter.”
Some 29 different actors have played the part of Tarzan on the big screen, making the jungle-dwelling hero the most filmed character in motion picture history.
James Sullos, President of Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc., said the company had no hesitation in choosing Microgaming to develop the official Tarzan pokie for online play.
“We could not be more pleased to license Tarzan™ and his friends to such a quality company as Microgaming,” Sullos said.
“Their extensive experience in developing online slot games assures us they will build a game that will attract many fans and players to the game from around the globe.”
Microgaming launches three online pokies for August 2016
While the development team buckles down on Tarzan, Microgaming casinos will unveil three new real money pokies for desktop and browser play this month.
Karaoke Party is all bright lights and catchy melodies in an Australian-style video pokies layout with nine paylines, five reels and up to 15 retriggerable free spins.
Monkey Keno blends lotto-style matching gameplay with classic pokies features, a dynamic payout table and the chance to win up to 10,000 times your initial bet.
Developed by the Rabcat studio, Frozen Diamonds features exploding symbols and Bonus Falls re-spins which can trigger 10 free games with up to a 3x multiplier.
“There’s no summer hiatus at Microgaming as we prepare to release three diverse games to our operators next month,” said Microgaming’s Neill Whyte.
“What’s more, we have a number of exciting games launching in the next couple of months, including Jungle Jim – El Dorado in September and the highly-anticipated Dragonz later in the year, which we unveiled at the iGaming Super Show in June.”
The Karaoke Party, Monkey Keno and Frozen Diamonds pokies will all debut in the coming weeks at Roxy Palace – one of our most trusted Microgaming casinos.
